A2M is available as both an AUv3 plugin and a standalone application, with the latter serving as the AU host for this particular plugin. It analyzes input sounds akin to an audio effect while producing output MIDI events like a traditional MIDI effect.

A2M does not function as an AU plugin within GarageBand; however, its standalone version supports all MIDI-compatible applications, including GarageBand.
